Russell Falls

Review

Russell Falls is situated in the southern part of the Central Highlands, in the Mt. Field National Park. Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes drive west from Hobart, Russell Falls is accompanied by Horseshoe Falls and Lady Barron Falls. This spectacular waterfall is downstream from Horseshoe Falls on Russell Falls Creek, and has an excellent flow of water during the winter / spring months. Not only is Russell Falls one of Tasmania's best waterfalls to visit, it boasts being one of few waterfalls that can be reached with a wheelchair. The flat 10 minute walk from the Information Centre leads you directly to the Russell Falls viewing platform at the base of the waterfall. Other viewing platforms alongside the waterfall and above the waterfall can also be accessed for people who are able to negotiate staircases.
