Allports Beach Picnic Area

Review

A shaded free gas BBQ, picnic tables and toilets provided just below the campsite before you reach the beach. Alport's barbecue area is day use only and donations are appreciated for the free gas BBQ, gas is kindly supplied by Parks and Wildlife. Freshwater for hand washing is supplied by two rainwater tanks, it is advisable to bring your own drinking water. Alport's Beach is a 150 m long slightly curving, north-facing relatively steep reflective beach. It is bordered by dune-capped granite points, with some boulders outcropping along the eastern end of the beach, and seagrass meadows growing 100 m offshore. The Alport's Road runs down the backing slopes to a small reserve with a car park, picnic area and toilets at the eastern end of the beach. This is the main Emit swimming beach, safe for children and ideal for snorkeling around the rocks. Dogs are welcome.
