Burnie Park boasts rolling green hills, trees of many species, a rose garden, rhododendrons, a waterfall, a music shell, a memorial cenotaph, a fire-fighting demonstration track, playgrounds, barbecues and picnic area, accessible playground and toilet facilities are all featured within a 1.5km drive of the city centre, at Burnie Park.
Located on the Bass Highway just west of the city center, overlooking West Park Oval, University of Tasmania and Bass Strait, it is arguably one of the prettiest parks in Tasmania. Burnie Park is divided by a natural waterway flowing over Oldaker Falls which can be viewed at the top of a short walking trail, and flows into a small pond with a raft of ducks.
